“TENNESSEE” (BILLYBOP.BE)

★★★★★

David Newbould is originally from Toronto, Canada but since his high school years he has relocated a couple of times already. David started in New York, moved to Texas to be more connected to the roots of his music and finally settled in music city because of the many opportuneties you have there. This new album Tennessee is aptly named after the state he lives in now and pays tribute to his new home.

The twelve songs on this brand new album are all self-penned except for some who are co-written with a musical friend of him. The album is filled with quality songs that are best compared as a mixture of Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Ryan Adams & Neil Young.
Although it is hard to pick a handful of tunes that are better then the rest I know many of you like me to poinbt out one or two songs each time. As for “Tennessee” I would think name Lucinda as one of the better tracks, simply because it is a bit different then the rest, “Don’t give up on Love, because it reminds me so much of the Boss & the uptempo “It can always be worse”. But in general, the complete album is something that I can advise to everyone who likes a real good singer songwriter album.
